Urban Development Institute (UDI) Capital Region is pleased to welcome Canucks alumnus Kirk McLean as he sits down for a one-on-one chat with UDI Board member Gary Pooni, President of Brook Pooni Associates.
Topics will include Kirk’s foray into real estate development, and why Kirk thinks developers are like professional athletes. And yes, hockey will definitely be on the agenda… along with photos and autographs!
Added Executive Director Kathy Hogan, “We are thrilled to have another high-quality, high profile speaker join us for our lunchtime series, as we kick off the New Year. I am confident that this event will sell out very, very quickly – and that Kirk will provide some very interesting perspectives.”
About Kirk McLean
Kirk McLean has long been considered one of the best technical stand-up goalies to ever have played in the NHL. He was the number one goalie for the Vancouver Canucks for 11 years. Kirk was named to the NHL’s Second All Star Team in 1992 where he led the season with an extraordinary 38 wins and five shutouts. He also led the team to the Stanley Cup Finals where they lost in a seven-game series to the New York Rangers. Following his time with the Canucks, Kirk went on to play for Carolina, Florida, and the New York Rangers before ending his career in the 2001-2002 Season.
